Alabama star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa took to Twitter after losing the 2018 Heisman Trophy to Oklahoma star quarterback Kyler Murray on Saturday night.
The Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback, who was considered the runaway favorite for much of the season, was extremely classy in defeat.
Tagovailoa congratulated Murray for winning the award and had a message for Alabama fans.
“Humbled and grateful for the tremendous amount of support from my family, The University Of Alabama, and our fans throughout this process Big congrats to Kyler on winning the Heisman and Dwayne on a tremendous season this year! Now, we’re back to work.. #RollTide,” he tweeted.
Tagovailoa will get a chance to win a more important trophy in a couple of weeks. Alabama is set to play Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff on Dec. 29.
Alabama’s star quarterback could win the Heisman Trophy next season, too. The Crimson Tide’s QB is considered the frontrunner for next season’s award.
