An MMA fighter who was on the run after making a break from a prison van has been found hiding inside a bin.

Cedric Joseph Marks made his bid for freedom on foot on Sunday morning when guards stopped for a McDoanld's.

Police launched a man hunt after the 44-year-old suspect in three murders escaped on foot.

Marks had a warrant out for his arrest over the murders of Michael Swearingen, 32, and Jenna Scott, 28, in Temple Texas.

He is also a person of interest in the disappearance of April Pease in 2009, reports the Washington Post.

The force later said: "After an exhausting 9 hour manhunt involving multiple Montgomery County, State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies- Cedric Joseph Marks has been captured.

"Conroe Police located him still within the city and the community can relax as he is now safely in custody."

Conroe PD posted a picture of the suspect saying he was found hiding hiding in a trash can and "surrendered without incident
