The Mary B II, a 42-foot boat featured on “Deadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove,” capsized in Oregon on Tuesday, killing the crew.
The three fisherman aboard – James Lacey, 48, Joshua Porter, 50, and skipper, Stephen Biernacki, 50 – were found dead. None of the men appeared on the Discovery show.
KGW8 reports the fisherman were caught in 14-foot waves as they attempted to cross the Yaquina Bay Bar. They had called for a Coast Guard escort just before the accident.
The Coast Guard tweeted a photo of their rescue efforts, confirming, “Vessel sank under its own power while being escorted by a Coast Guard boat crew.”
Discovery responded to the tragedy with a statement, telling Yahoo, “We feel deeply saddened by the news, as we feel part of the crabbing community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and the entire community during this difficult time.”
